Auto Europa Car Rental at Winnipeg Airport

Winnipeg International Airport is located just west of the city centre of Winnipeg, and is currently the eighth largest airport in the country of Canada in terms of passenger traffic. It is a hub for the airline companies of Calm Air, Perimeter Aviation and Kivallig Air, and a focus city of Air Canada Express. The airport is important in terms of international traffic as well as domestic traffic, and is recognised by its code of YWG. The services available to arriving passengers include car hire companies, of which Auto Europa is one of the favourites. This car rental company has been offering high quality services for many years, and has a large selection of well maintained vehicles for hire.

The airport of Winnipeg, in the Canadian province of Manitoba, handles around 3.39 million passengers per annum, and consists of a single passenger terminal building. This is a new terminal, having been opened for operation in 2011, and is well equipped to handle the number of passengers which pass through it on a yearly basis. Although the majority of airline companies offer their flights from this building, there are also another two smaller terminals on the airport grounds, which are home to Kivallig Air and Perimeter Aviation. Their needs are slightly different to those of other airline companies, as they offer flights on smaller aircraft which do not require jet bridges and other facilities that are found at the main terminal.

Auto Europa Winnipeg Airport can be located at the parkade of the airport, on the main level of the four-storey construction. This parkade is also a newer feature of the airport that opened in 2006. The vehicles of the car rental companies are parked nearby as well, and are within easy walking distance of the terminal. In general, vehicles may be collected any time from 07:00 to midnight, seven days a week. However, it is best to contact Auto Europa in order to confirm their opening hours. Remember to also arrange your vehicle in advance, and preferably online, as some of the best rental rates are then offered. An earlier reservation also brings peace of mind in knowing that the vehicle you require will be ready for your arrival at the airport.

Customers in need of a vehicle should include in their reservation a child seat (s) if they will be travelling with young children, and a satellite navigation system if they are unfamiliar with the area of Winnipeg. Child seats are available in various sizes, suitable for infants and for older children, and the GPS units available are of a high quality, with turn-by-turn directions in voice or visual mode, a selection of languages, pre-programmed points of interest and many other useful features. Sometimes a car rental even includes a satellite navigation system. Auto Europa hand controls for disabled drivers are also available, and is a device that operates the brake and accelerator pedals of an automatic vehicle. From Winnipeg Airport, hand controls are free of charge, but all other items will cost a few extra dollars.

Vehicles from Auto Europa will suit leisure and business travellers, and come in a range of sizes. Some of the most popular include the Chevy Cobalt and Toyota Yaris, as they are available with cheaper rental rates. They are also great cars for nipping around the city, running daily errands and for exploring various tourist sites. They do, however, have less room for luggage than some of the larger vehicles for hire, such as the Pontiac G6 found in the Midsize class and the Chevy Impala of the Fullsize category. These two cars can seat up to five passengers and have adequate room for a few luggage items. The Ford Fusion and Mercury Grand Marquis are other larger sedans available from Auto Europa, and SUVs for hire include the Ford Explorer and Ford Expedition. Sometimes a vehicle is required for more than five passengers, and then a Minivan would be the ideal choice. Minivans available include the Dodge Grand Caravan for seven people. The majority of vehicles hired have automatic transmissions, and various other features such as air conditioning and airbag protection.

Cars hired from the Winnipeg International Airport car rental companies are best arranged as a one way hire if the customer does not plan to return to the airport, or as a cross-border rental if the vehicle will be driven into the United States of America. Auto Europa one way hires can generally be returned to any other of the company’s rental locations in Canada and could be convenient for certain travel itineraries, however, they may also incur additional costs. In terms of cross-border rentals, cars may not be driven into Alaska or Mexico, but are often permitted into the neighbouring states of America.

Auto Europa customers will need to verify their rental with a valid drivers license and a major credit card, such as American Express, Diner’s Club Int’l, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, AT & T Capital, Sears or PHH. The credit card of the customer will be used to hold the estimated rental charges at the start of the rental period and may also be used for the final payment of the vehicle. A debit card is not accepted when the vehicle is collected, but can be used upon its return for the final payment. A debit card should have the Visa or Mastercard logo. Most driving licenses printed in English are accepted, especially those from Canada (apart from G1 and G2 licenses) and the United States. Licenses in a foreign language may need to be accompanied by an International Driving Permit. The primary renter will also need to be at least 21 years of age or older.
