Europcar Calgary International Airport Airport

Calgary Airport, with the official code of YYC, is located approximately 17km from downtown Calgary, and is rated as the fourth largest airport in Canada, as it serves over 12 million passengers per annum. The airport is a hub for Air Canada and Air Canada Express, and is the headquarters of the airline carrier WestJet. Many other airline companies are present at Calgary Airport as well. Facilities of the airport include the Calgary Airport car rental companies, such as Europcar. Airport business travellers often find Europcar to be their ideal choice of car hire company, but car rentals for leisure purposes are welcome as well.

Passengers arriving at Calgary Airport will enter the terminal at one of its four concourses, and then should make their way to the departure level, as the Car Rental Centre of the airport is located here, just across the roadway from the main terminal building. Passengers can also access the car rental counters from the elevator lobby, across from the arrivals roadway. Either way, it is within walking distance of the terminal building, and the vehicles hired by the various companies are parked nearby as well, in the airport parkade building. Customers with reservations at Europcar are advised to go to the National Car Hire counters, in order to collect their vehicle. The Calgary Airport car hire companies are open from 05:00 or 06:00 in the morning to midnight, seven days a week. An out-of-office hour return may also be possible to arrange.

Vehicles from Calgary Airport can be hired by anyone just twenty-one years of age or older, and are of various sizes. Some are ideal for single drivers or couples without too many luggage items, while others are ideal for families, as they have plenty of interior space and room for luggage as well. The price charged for the vehicle is often dependent on its size, as smaller cars are generally cheaper to hire than a larger car. A rental quote is also higher if a vehicle is of a more elegant make, such as those found in the Luxury and Premium categories. As can be expected, convertibles have a higher price tag as well. The car you choose should be priced within your budget, but should also be of a reasonable size for your passengers and their luggage items.

Europcar Calgary Airport has a large range of vehicle categories from which to choose, and cars such as the Suzuki Swift and Nissan Versa are examples of smaller models found in the Economy and Compact categories. In the Midsize category the Dodge Caliber is a vehicle for hire, and Standard-sized cars include the Ford Fusion. SUVs are popular to hire in Canada as well, and some similar to the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban even seat up to seven passengers. SUVs ideal for five include the Ford Escape, Ford Explorer and Ford Edge. Minivans for seven can also be hired, and are similar to the Dodge Grand Caravan. Europcar even caters for groups of up to fifteen passengers, as the Chevrolet Express is a large van capable of seating fifteen people.

Vehicles hired from this airport location can be driven to all areas of Canada, and Europcar one way hires may be available, which allows the car to be returned to a location other than Calgary Airport. One way hire services may be more expensive. The renter of a vehicle may also hire additional items of equipment for his/her vehicle, such as child seats and satellite navigation systems. Disabled drivers can request the use of hand controls for their vehicle, provided that they are comfortable with this device that operates the brake and accelerator pedals of the vehicle. From Calgary Airport, hand controls are free of charge, but all other items of equipment will cost a few additional Dollars to hire.

Europcar requires their primary renters in Canada to be 21 years of age or older, but will charge higher rental rates for drivers under the age of 25. A major credit will be needed for payments at the beginning of the rental period, but debit cards are often accepted for any payments made once the car is returned. All drivers registered on the rental agreement will need to be present to collect the vehicle, and will need to show Europcar a valid drivers license. Your vehicle will start the rental period with a full tank of fuel, and should be returned with a full tank if no fuel has been purchased. Customers who have purchased fuel should return their vehicle as empty as possible, as no refunds are given for unused fuel.

Upon collection of the rented car, a form should be completed stating all existing damages on the vehicle. It is recommended for the customer to also do a check for damages inside and out. When the car is returned, it will be inspected again, and you will be responsible for any new damages, besides reasonable wear and tear. Before leaving Calgary Airport, ensure that you have any emergency numbers to contact in case of a breakdown or accident, and that you are comfortable with the workings of the vehicle. Staff at Europcar will gladly help you with any enquiries regarding the vehicle.
