Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is found in the province of Quebec, Canada, approximately 20km, or 12 miles from downtown Montreal. It is in the area of Dorval, and was therefore formerly known as the Montreal-Dorval Airport. Now it is named in honour of a former Canadian Prime Minister, as the Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The airport of Montreal is extremely well equipped for its arriving and departing passengers and offers several forms of ground transport. Passengers can also rent a car from Budget Montreal-Trudeau Airport, and travel the city and surrounding areas in comfort. Budget is well known around the world for their ‘budget’ car rental rates, and their unique car hire services.
At Montreal-Trudeau Airport Budget is open from Monday to Friday between the hours of 06:00am and 01:00am, and over weekends from 07:00am to 01:00am. There are a few exception hours on bank holidays, such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day. On these days they are still open from early in the morning, but close sooner, at 18:00 or 21:00. The airport car rental companies can be found on the ground level of the multi-storey parking garage, in front of the passenger terminal, and are within walking distance of all airport facilities. In general, the airport consists of three concourses, referred to as A, B and C, and international flights arrive at Concourse B and domestic flights arrive at Concourse A. Concourse C is dedicated to flights from the U.S. The vehicles of the Montreal-Trudeau Airport car hire companies are also parked nearby the terminal, therefore no shuttles are required for further transport.
Montreal-Trudeau Airport is one of Budget’s Fastbreak rental locations. Fastbreak is a service provided by Budget for more frequent renters, and is free of charge. Members of the Fastbreak program enjoy priority counter service and a wide range of other benefits which generally simplify the reservation, rental and return processes. A frequent renter as defined by Budget is someone who has hired a car three or more times from any of the Budget rental locations around the world. Budget has car rental services in most countries, and at the majority of major airports.
Budget’s car rental terms and conditions are quite straightforward to understand, and should be looked over before making a reservation. The primary renter of a Budget vehicle will need to present a major credit card at the time of rental. This account will be used for a hold of the estimated rental charges (plus 20%) due at the end of the rental period. A debit card cannot be used for this purpose at Montreal Airport, but it can be used for the final payment. Drivers who are between the ages of 21 and 24 may hire certain vehicles, but none from the categories of H, L, P, V, X and Z. They will also pay higher rental rates, for young drivers insurance. An extra $20.00 CAD per day of car hire will be applicable, and will be taken for each underage driver listed on the rental contract. All drivers will need to show a valid drivers license before the vehicle is handed over. Canadian G1 and G2 licenses are not accepted at Budget, Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
The Montreal-Trudeau Airport car rental companies will often allow customers to return their vehicles to a different car rental location and permit their cars to be driven into the United States of America. Budget one way hires are permitted, and could be a convenient option for customers who would rather not drive back to Montreal Airport. One way hires may be more expensive than a usual rental, but their price often depends on factors such as the length of the rental period and the return location. Budget cross-border rentals are allowed without restriction to the United States, but cars may not be driven to Mexico or Alaska.
Vehicles from Budget are all arranged into various car groups, and are therefore hired accordingly. The smaller cars available are similar to the Hyundai Accent and Ford Focus, while medium-sized rentals may include the Dodge Avenger, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Impala, Infiniti G25 and the Ford Escape, which is an SUV with a powerful V6 engine and rear floor heating ducts. Most of the smaller and medium-sized cars include features such as air conditioning, dual airbag protection, power steering, power locks, anti-lock brakes and an AM/FM stereo with CD player. Vehicles hired in Canada usually have an automatic transmission as well, and these are the types of cars that are used when Budget hand controls are requested. Hand controls are used by persons with a lower limb disability, as they operate the main functions of the vehicle (i.e. brake and accelerator pedals), and may include a steering wheel knob. From Montreal-Trudeau Airport, hand controls are free of charge.
Large rental cars from Budget are similar to the Ford Edge, Mercury Grand Marquis and the Lincoln Town Car, which is a luxury car with many desirable features. Passengers arriving at Montreal Airport can also hire a car that has room for more than five passengers, such as the Dodge Caravan, Ford Explorer and the Ford Expedition EL. Budget’s largest van is the Ford Econoline, with room for up to twelve passengers.
Budget at Montreal-Trudeau Airport will be happy to assist with all further car rental enquiries.
