Auto Europa Kelowna Airport
Kelowna International Airport is found in the country of Canada, and is one of the larger airports of the country. In 2011, just over 1.39 million passengers passed through its terminal building. The airport is known by its code of YLW, and is positioned about 11.5km, or 7.1 miles northeast of Kelowna. It has facilities for arriving passengers, such as tourism information booths, as well as car hire companies, such as Auto Europa Kelowna International Airport. Car rental rates are reasonable for airport passengers, and there is a wide selection of vehicles available. In a rented car is considered as the best way to explore this region of Canada.
Kelowna’s airport consists of a single terminal building that is currently capable of handling the number of passengers that pass through it each year, however, there are plans in place for major expansion works in the near future. By 2025, the terminal building will be nearly doubled in size, enabling it to handle up to 900 passengers per hour. As with many airports in North America, Kelowna is growing steadily in passenger traffic each year. Passengers will find the terminal of the airport well equipped for their needs. Arriving passengers have access to a tourism information kiosk and to the Kelowna International Airport car hire companies, which include Auto Europa. The rental counters are inside the terminal building, and nearby to the baggage claim area. They are also open at times when the majority of flights arrive at the airport. The vehicles of the companies are parked nearby as well, within walking distance of the terminal. They are found at the south end of the short-term parking lot.
Auto Europa offers some of the best hire cars, and at the lowest car rental rates. Their vehicles, similar to other car hire companies, are reserved by category, rather than by specific make and model. This means that you will receive a car that is very similar in size and characteristics to the examples mentioned, if not the same car that is used as an example. A large number of customers like to hire the Chevy Cobalt and Toyota Yaris, which are Compact and Economy cars, as they have excellent prices and are ideal for city driving. They have room for four passengers and an item or two of luggage. Most cars hired from Canadian airports have an automatic transmission, as well as features such as air conditioning and power steering. Automatic cars are also used when Auto Europa hand controls for disabled drivers are requested from Kelowna International Airport. Hand controls may only be used by persons with a physical disability, and are used to operate the brake and accelerator pedals. The device requires an advanced reservation, and is free of charge.
Slightly larger cars from Auto Europa are similar to the Pontiac G6, Chevy Impala and Ford Fusion. They seat five passengers and have room for up to five luggage items. The Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car are another two larger sedans, available in the Premium and Luxury car classes. They are ideal for business renters who require a more elegant vehicle. SUVs can be hired as well, such as the Ford Explorer and Ford Expedition. The Luxury, Premium, Convertible and SUV car classes contain vehicles that have a limit of 100km per day, while the other cars have unlimited mileage.
The Kelowna International Airport car rental companies expect their primary renters and additional drivers to be at least 21 years of age, and to provide valid driving licenses that have been issued either in Canada or the United States of America. However, most licenses that are printed in English will be accepted. Persons with a foreign license may require an International Driving Permit. Although young drivers (between the ages of 21 and 24) may hire a vehicle, they will be subject to higher rental rates, and may not have access to all vehicle categories. The extra fees charged for young driver insurance could amount to $35.00 per day of car hire, and per ‘underage’ driver listed on the rental contract. Additional drivers listed on the contract will also usually incur an additional fee.
When collecting your vehicle, you will need to provide Auto Europa with one of the major credit cards, and it must be in your name if you are the primary renter. The account will be used to hold the estimated rental charges until the vehicle is returned. Upon return, the account can be paid by debit or credit card. The major credit cards accepted include American Express, Diner’s Club Int’l, GE Capital, Mastercard, Visa and Discover. In order to return your vehicle to a location other than Kelowna Airport, an Auto Europa one way hire will need to be arranged. One way hires can be arranged online when the vehicle is requested. From Kelowna Airport, one way hires or any other vehicle may be driven to any city in British Columbia, and usually to neighbouring Canadian provinces as well. A cross-border rental, however, when the vehicle will be driven into the United States of America, may require a little more organisation, as sometimes they are not permitted.
Always return your rented car to the location selected in good time to avoid any late-return fees being placed onto your account. Cars are usually hired per day, and late returns could therefore incur a whole day of extra costs. Keep in mind that child seats and satellite navigation systems can be hired for the vehicle as well, and these items should be returned with the vehicle. They will cost a few extra dollars per day of hire, or per rental contract. Contact Auto Europa Kelowna International Airport for all further details required.
