Enterprise Edmonton International Airport
Edmonton International Airport is located quite nearby the large city of Edmonton, along the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, and in the Alberta province of Canada. It is one of the largest airports in the country, with around six million passengers per annum. Edmonton Airport has been allocated the official IATA code of YEG, in order for its distinguish from similar establishments. There are several Edmonton International Airport car hire companies available, including Enterprise Car Rental. Enterprise is a trusted brand of car rental service in the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland and Canada.
The car hire companies of Edmonton Airport are found nearby the terminal buildings, on the lower level of the parkade building. Their vehicles are parked nearby as well. There are two terminals which serve both arrival and departure flights at Edmonton Airport, and a wide variety of facilities are found in each. The airport has also been recently expanded to better accommodate its growing number of passengers. Expansion works also continue, in order to link the two terminal buildings with a new concourse. Enterprise Edmonton International Airport is open seven days a week, from 07:00 to 23:59, and are therefore able to meet passengers on the majority of airport arrival flights. Their offices are within walking distance of the terminals, and are therefore convenient for car hire services at this location.
To hire a car in Canada, and from this airport location, the primary renter will be expected to meet the minimum age requirement of 21, and to be in possession of a valid drivers license that shows a safe driving record. The age requirement could actually be considered as 25, however, younger drivers are allowed to rent a car at a higher price. The additional amount charged is for young drivers insurance, and is applicable to each day of car hire, and each ‘young’ driver registered on the rental agreement. Only certain vehicle categories may be available to customers under the age of 25. Most driving licenses are accepted, provided that they are printed in English. It is wise, however, if you are from a foreign country, to find out from Enterprise if an International Driving Permit will be required. This document can only be acquired from your home country, and will serve as a translation document for your local license. Always keep the two licenses together.
The Edmonton International Airport car rental companies allow payments by major credit card only at the beginning of the rental period, and sometimes by debit card once the vehicle has been returned. Some of the credit cards accepted include American Express, Diner’s Club, Diner’s Club Int’l, Discover, Visa, Mastercard and Sears. Additional cards may be accepted as well, however, only those of a standard size may be used and none that are of a ‘keyring’ size. If your credit card company does not provide adequate insurance for the rented car, purchase insurance from Enterprise, so that you are covered in the case of an accident or theft. Personal Accident insurance is a common option as well, and third party liability insurance is usually included in the rental quote.
Vehicles hired in Canada by Enterprise include the Suzuki Swift and Nissan Versa as smaller models, and the Dodge Caliber, Ford Focus, Ford Fusion and Hyundai Sonata as Intermediate and Standard-sized vehicles. Slightly larger vehicles are similar to the Chevy Impala and Nissan Altima, while the Buick Allure, Chrysler 300 and Buick Lucerne are Premium and Luxury cars ideal for business purposes and prestigious events. A number of car categories containing SUVs are available from Enterprise as well. SUVs seating five include the Ford Escape, Jeep Liberty, Ford Explorer and Chevy Trailblazer, while Large SUVs seating seven include the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition. There are Luxury SUVs as well, similar to the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade. Further vehicles are found in Enterprise’s Pickup and Minivan categories. Minivans are popular rentals for up to seven people, and may include the Chrysler Town and Country and the Dodge Grand Caravan.
Always arrange an Enterprise one way hire in advance should you not be returning the hire car to Edmonton International Airport. One way hire services are convenient for certain travel itineraries, and for customers who are leaving the country/city from a different airport, for example, the larger airport of Calgary is found south of Edmonton, and here there is an Enterprise car rental office as well. A cross-border rental will need to be requested if you wish to drive further, to cities in the United States. Montana and a number of U.S. cities are found south of Edmonton and Calgary. Services such as these mentioned may have additional costs.
A few extra Canadian Dollars will also be charged for items such as child seats and satellite navigation systems. These are optional items of equipment that could be an invaluable part of your journey in Canada. Child seats are available in sizes suitable for infants and toddlers, and booster seats can be hired for older children. Enterprise hand controls for disabled drivers may also be requested, and are an option for persons with a lower limb disability. From Edmonton International Airport, hand controls are free of charge.
Enterprise at Edmonton International Airport will be glad to assist you with further enquiries.
